Experience our Much Wenlock is the birthplace of William Penny Brookes, founding father of the Modern Olympic Games. It was in 1850 that the first ever Olympian Games were held in Much Wenlock and they are still held here annually! Today you will find relics of our Olympian heritage all around the town. Follow the Olympian Trail or visit our Museum with its collection of Olympian artifacts For more information about the original games and Much Wenlock's contribution to the modern Olympic Games visit the Wenlock Olympian Society web site Shropshire Event Highlights 01 May - 30 Sep
