ANTIQUES EVENING SATURDAY MARCH 8TH

Flags

We had a very successful evening at the Priory Hall. We were entertained by Jeremy Lamond, Director of Hall’s Fine Arts of Shrewsbury who provided us with valuations of our “antiques”. I’m afraid most of us had items of minimal value only – E-bay has a lot to answer for! In fact, in the current market even local Coalport plates are deemed to be of little value! However, he was extremely knowledgeable and entertained us for the whole evening with his expertise and anecdotes. The supper was provided by an army of volunteers and was delicious, as usual. This was our main fundraiser for the year and I am happy to confirm that we raised around £600. This sum will certainly help towards the costs of entertaining our French friends in October. Thanks to everyone who supported us.

BRIDGNORTH ANNUAL SPONSORED WALK

Monday May 26TH

There will be opportunities to sponsor members of the team taking part in the Bridgnorth Walk raising funds for the Twinning Group and the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. It is hoped to have sponsorship forms available at the Annual General Meeting on April 30th and at the Corn Exchange on Saturday May 3rd.

Your sponsorship however small will be much appreciated.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday April 30th at 7.30 p.m. at the Priory Hall and will be followed by Cheese and Wine and a photo display from the visit to Cysoing in October last year. We hope as many members as possible will attend. One of the main items on the Agenda is the proposed increase in Membership Rates from May 1st 2008 as follows:

Families £10
Individuals £7
Seniors (60+) £5
Juniors (under 18) £2

Members attending the meeting are also asked to put forward ideas for the visit by the Cysoing twinning group in October. We will soon be discussing the proposed programme and all ideas are welcome. If you are unable to attend the AGM please contact any committee member or send your ideas to Linda Stevenson at 30 Sheinton Street, Much Wenlock Email: lds@uwclub.net.

CORN EXCHANGE

Saturday May 3rd 10.00-12.00

This year our stall at the Corn Exchange will have tables for Books, Cakes, Plants and Bric-a-Brac. If you can help by supplying any items we will be most grateful. Your donations can be delivered to Carol Bickerstaffe at No.6 Callaughton, Much Wenlock or if you telephone 727542 she will arrange to collect from you. Cakes can be delivered to the stall before 10.a.m.
