Our Sporting Life, The Science of Sport at Enginuity will use the Museum’s collections and loan items to demonstrate the science behind modern, high-performance sports, The Coalbrookdale Gallery will draw on the Museum’s diverse collections and photographic sources to stage Our Sporting Life, Sporting Heroes, a display of images ranging from football, cricket and quoit teams to rowing clubs and coracle racing

Visit CORE, a fantastic digital art installation designed by renowned international artist Kurt Hentschläger and experience a whole new digital world. This world-class piece of art forms the next generation of the Chicago-based artist’s generative 3D and audio work. Admission free to CORE in the Engine Shop (entry into the museum carries a fee). 10am - 5pm.

Shropshire Jubilee Proms and Fireworks Spectacular
Led by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra the family event has been organised by Shropshire Council in conjunction with 7Sense event management and will culminate in a spectacular firework display, with a children’s funfair, various food stalls and several bars on site.

On Saturday a Diamond Jubilee Service: readings, music with Coronation anthems, presentation of the 'Royal Insignia'. Sunday: The Big Lunch. Bring a picnic and listen to live music and watch the Queen's River Pageant on large screen TV.

Townsfolk will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of their much-loved Queen Victoria with great style, pomp and pageantry over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Each day will be a fitting tribute to the gracious lady’s long reign with an extravaganza of colour, music and entertainment, while the town will be decorated in patriotic fashion.

English Haydn Festival
This unique Classical Music Festival, now in its nineteenth year, celebrates the compositions of Joseph Haydn and other composers of the late eighteenth/early nineteenth centuries, like Mozart and Beethoven. Period orchestra performing works by Joseph Haydn and composers of the classical era. The Festival opens with the film "In Search of Haydn" and includes lunchtime Trio and Quartet concerts. Lunchtime 1pm - 2pm Evening 7-30pm -10pm. Various £12 to £30.

This is a challenging ride for the experienced cyclist, starting from Coventry on Saturday 9th June and proceeding to Much Wenlock, an outward journey of 100 miles, stopping off overnight in the historic Shropshire town and returning on Sunday 10th June taking a shorter route of 86 miles. Continuing it’s happy association with Much Wenlock Festival, Shropshire Drama Company presents the most English of Shakespeare’s plays and arguably the funniest, ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’. Set in the heart of Wenlock on Church Green, fully raked seating will ensure good views of the stage for everyone. There is ample space for picnics beforehand and during the interval.
